Fundación Xaley

The robust baobab is a constant feature of the Sahel, on the road from Dakar to our projects in Saint Louis, Thiès and Louga.
Senegal is a lay, democratic country which gained its independence in 1960. It has more than 12 million inhabitants. 58% of them are under 20 years old.

The “Fundación Xaley” team has been working for years in Senegal supporting the most vulnerable children and youths, working with its institutions, its associations and civil society, listening to their needs and priorities, knowing its culture and learning from its generosity, solidarity and respect for others, especially for the elderly and the weaker ones.

Xaley has focused its attention on Senegal for the following reasons:
· First hand knowledge about this country.
· Its children lack many basic things and opportunities.
· Its population wants a better life and fights for it.
· It is a politically stable country, plural one, with a clear the separation of powers and governed by rule of law
· The last point guarantees the permanence of our actions.
· It is a country located near Spain. This allows for an easier monitoring of the plans.
